Arabesque

The inaugural installation of the annual Ramadan Majlis at Madinat Jumeirah took place in August 2011. A first of its kind, this project transformed the Arena into a majlis setting, inviting guests to gather and celebrate with friends and family.

Detailed Islamic arches framed the venue, creating a backdrop of private alcove spaces. Giving the majlis its identity, a star-shaped chandelier was positioned at the centre of the majlis with glass drops suspended beneath. The venue was ornamented with pendant lanterns throughout. Using a laser cut technique, the lanterns illuminated shadowed patterns from within, completing the harmonious arabesque look.
