In creating her special day, our client expressed a desire for a space that felt organic and flowing, so we focused on creating a floorplan inspired by parks and green environments, where guests would promenade.
We wanted the guest to be surrounded by trees, so we proposed custom sofa seating that would be integrated with the flow of the pathways. Multiple levels of elevations were utilized in order to construct this unique flow. The layers functioned to divide the space while keeping the movement organic. This made the bride’s path feel spontaneous and she was easily able to navigate around the landscaped islands and mingle with all attendees Layers of origami fabric and wood feature walls provided additional natural elements completing the feeling of a flowing, soft and peaceful setting.
This desire for an organic feeling inspired DLE to collaborate with acclaimed large-scale sculpture artist Kendall Buster. We felt she was a perfect fit for this project as her sculptures create open airy spaces of classic beauty. We knew her interconnected translucent organic forms would make for a perfect ceiling and provide a dramatic event focal point. Working along side Kendall, the floor plan inspired her and helped direct her vision for the spatial environment to be placed overhead
